I'm finished with the front of the quilt. Here's what it looks like:
Notice that it differs slightly from the plan, in that I added a black border with the red one.
I am thinking an overall patterned stitch from the long arm quilter may be in order, mainly because of the different design on the front and back. However, the border could have a different patterned stitch, as that will line up with the border on the back.
I mitered the corners following this tutorial - I think it worked out well.
Next up is the backing, which will probably take me awhile longer. I've never sewn this many hexagons, around 130. Fingers crossed.
